You see a long time ago, I committed to a whole person approach to wellness – for myself and my clients. We aren’t random pieces stitched together like Frankenstein’s monster.
For each person, check-ins take body, mind, and spirit into account before creating a plan that suits each individual in their entirety.
Identifying the Problem
It’d be crazy not to have learned a lot in ten years of pursuing wellness.
As a lover of down-to-earth thinking and sensible actions, from day 1, I collected practical tips, tricks, and habits. I rely on all of it daily. I’ve spent the last 7 years sharing many of them in articles and on social media.
But, it didn’t take long to realize, these practical steps were not the key to finally achieving wellness.
What did take a long time was finding the right voice to share the real truth to lasting wellness.
A few weeks ago I attended a Blessed is She retreat in San Jose, CA. One of the speakers hosts a successful YouTube channel. One stage she was vulnerable, honest, and inspirational. I was in awe of her presence on the stage and longed to be in her place.
Towards the end of the day, I timidly approached her for some advice.
Big fat tears rolled down my cheeks as I shared my disconnect. I have so many things to say but haven’t been able to find a way to truly be myself in writing. I’ve stayed safe knowing that when it comes to weight loss and personal transformation, my truth is so much deeper.
After listening patiently to my confession she planted both palms on the table and leaned forward putting her face squarely in front of mine.
“Set up the camera, hit record, and share whatever is on your heart. People need to hear what you are saying.”
So, I did.
